Description
Here is a rare 1946 photograph depicting one of the two Grumman XTS2F-1 prototypes tested by the U.S. Marine Corps. The Swallowcat, as it was called, was obtained by mating a Grumman Tigercat fighter's airframe with the wings and engines of a captured German Mersserschmitt Me 262 Schwalbe ("Swallow") jet fighter.
